Professional Experience

In the summer of my sophomore year of college, I interned at Second Chance Wildlife Center, a wildlife rehabilitation center.  I gained valuable experience in handling birds, squirrels and turtles.

Throughout high school and college, I assisted with social media management of the YouTube channel ESSA which specializes in ESOL, GED Prep, and Citizenship Preparation. I performed daily tasks of managing the online community and moderating and responding to comments and questions from viewers.

In addition, I have done a lot of volunteering.

While in high school I volunteered at Wayside Elementary School. I helped my former first grade teacher by doing a variety of task such as checking papers, filing, and preparing materials for the next day.  Volunteering at Wayside taught me many valuable skills. For instance, I learned how to cheer up sad children and be more efficient with my time. I would go to Wayside once a week for two hours after school, so I would do my best to get as much done in that allotted time. Volunteering at Wayside ES actually inspired me to make Habitat Match. More information on Habitat Match (pictured above) can be found here.

Furthermore, while in high school I volunteered at Poplar Spring Animal Sanctuary. Poplar Spring Animal Sanctuary is a sanctuary that mainly take care of farm animals, but have a have few wild animals such as turkeys and groundhogs.  Volunteering involved me cleaning the animals living areas and changing the water and food. Although, not the most exciting job, I was able to interact with multiple animals and meet people from various backgrounds. In addition, I was able to experience a more labor intensive job.
